POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Program Aide helps plan, organize and carry out activities for children 5-13 years of age. Candidate must be at least 18 years old and must be positive, energetic and able to work with and lead children.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the Youth Program Supervisor this individual is responsible for creating and implementing outside play, gym games, arts and crafts, science projects, special events and incentive behavior programs.
Works with peers to create a safe fun environment for participants. Must be able to communicate effectively with parents, staff and children.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. A mandatory 480 hours of experience working with school aged children is required (candidates will submit 3 letters of reference verifying hours upon being hired).
This position also requires finger printing
Driving Requirements : If eligible, this position is required to drive a City motor vehicle / van to various City facilities and fieldtrips.
Must possess a valid Driver License or have the ability to obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.
PREPARATION AND TRAINING
Requires current First Aid / CPR / AED certification. Can be required within 30 Days of employment
