PositionDescription

TheIDEAL School of Manhattan currently seeks a highenergy passionateeducator to work as an Associate Teacher with a Lower Schoolstudent in need of direct behavioral support to access thecurriculum and the community in an inclusion school.

IDEAL sAssociate Teacher program provides a unique opportunity for specialeducators to gain experience through collaboration with establishedclassroomteachers.

RegisteredBehavior Technician (RBT) certification and experience withbehavior management and implementing modified behavior plans arerequired and experience working with BCBA is a plus.

T his person must have a strong ability tocollaborate and follow the design of the established class routinesas well as the ability to create individual goals for his or herassigned student.

The ability to differentiate and modify thecurriculum and implement creative support strategies is required.

Responsibilitiesfor this position include but are not limited to thefollowing :

Partneringwith teachers therapists and additional professionals on theimplementation of support strategies for assigned student acrosssettings

Implementingmodified behavior plans and behavior management as needed forassignedstudent

Utilizingspecific instructional and behavioral techniques to meet individualstudentneeds

Workingas a member of the Lower School classroom teaching team in aninclusive setting to plan and differentiate curriculum and supportthe classroom and other students asneeded

Collaboratingand following the design of the established classroom curriculum aswell as creating and implementing individual goals for assignedstudent

Creatingdifferentiated lessons and materials to support assigned student saccess to thecurriculum

Communicatingproactively on a daily basis with the family of the assignedstudent

AttendingCSE meetings and yearly goal reviews asneeded

Providingsupport for Activities of Daily Living asneeded
