Role Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, treats, and rehabilitates patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. This role requires developing and implementing individualized treatment plans while adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Screen, evaluate, and provide therapy for patients with speech, language, swallowing, or cognitive disorders.

Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to guide interventions.

Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans in the clinical record.

Evaluate outcomes and modify services; make referrals as needed.

Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers.

Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress and care planning.

Prepare and deliver comprehensive discharge summaries.

Document all services and treatment minutes in the EMR per policy and regulatory requirements.

Participate in care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehab meetings.

Obtain necessary DME or supplies in accordance with regulations.

Supervise and mentor CFYs or SLP students.

Adhere to ASHA and state licensure practice acts, code of conduct, and ethical standards.

Submission Requirements

1 year of SLP experience – Required

New Grads OK – if Level II experience completed (not Level I observation only)

LTC or Rehab experience – Required

MO State License – Required

CCC Certification (SLP-CCC) – Required

3 years experience holding active CCCs – Preferred
