The Metropolitan Council Information Services Department (IS) is seeking candidates to fulfill staff augmentation work. Below is the position title, a brief description of responsibilities, and the estimated start and end dates for an engagement.
On the following page, please find the details of the service order request for this position. Instructions are provided for each section of the form.
POSITION TITLE : Web Specialist (1 position)
Responsibilities : The Communications department is seeking contracted web specialist services to support updates to external website.
The contractor in this position will :
- Update website(s) using Kentico CMS with content provided by internal clients.
- Provide project management & customer service to internal clients, ensuring their needs are met in a timely, service-oriented manner.
- Advise clients on strategies, best practices, and formatting for accessibility to best optimize their communication goals.
- Test their own work before going live on production.
- Understand the status of the different server environments, and coordinate the effort to sync data when appropriate.
- Collaborate with digital team on new website build as SME on web editing.
- Understand and have experience with one or more of the following : usability, content strategy, information architecture, accessibility, website design, website development, digital project management.
The following skills are desired :
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Basic photo editing skills or willingness and aptitude to learn.
- Basic understanding of HTML or willingness and aptitude to learn.
