As a Geohazard Mitigation Technician working for GSI, there is no typical day and the scenery changes often. You will be working outside with your hands in a wide variety of climates.
You will be laborer working aside experienced technicians measuring, drilling, mixing concrete, and creating sustainable infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Mix, spray, run hoses, and operate shotcrete or grouting pumps
- Move materials on a construction site
- Read and determining measurements
- Maintain a clean and organized construction site
- Work together in a team environment
- Learn to operate rock drills
- Operate construction equipment such as excavator, all terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front end loaders
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience
OR prior construction industry experience as a carpenter or framer for example
OR prior concrete experience such as a concrete finisher / form builder or shotcrete experience
OR significant experience working outdoors in a collaborative, physical environment
- Must not be afraid of heights
- The ability to travel at least 3 weeks out of every month
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Enthusiastically work with a diverse team
Preferred Qualifications
A CDL Class A or a clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Climates vary in degrees, in tropical to desert environments.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is often required.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
- Regular heavy lifting (50lbs+) of construction materials on the job site.

Pay : $20-$23 / hr. In 2023, individuals in this role, with overtime, made the equivalent of over $27 / hr.
Travel : 100% travelling in the Eastern US (East of the Mississippi River). Employees are expected to work a 3 weeks on, 1 week off schedule.
