Job Title : Estimator Structural Steel Components
Location : Office-Based
Reports To : VP of Sales and Estimating
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
Job Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with 2+ years of experience in bridge construction, estimating, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of bridge / civil construction methods and be comfortable reviewing construction plans and specifications.
This role involves executing both computer-aided and manual estimates of structural steel components while supporting the preparation of comprehensive documentation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Estimating :
- Execute computer-aided and hand-takeoff estimates for structural steel components.
- Develop and maintain supporting documentation for complete estimates.
- Review and Analysis :
- Review construction plans, specifications, and vendor / subcontractor quotes for scope compliance.
- Identify basic and special requirements for the required scope of work, including buy-out items.
- Collaboration and Support :
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
- Assist in the training and development of junior estimators.
Qualifications :
- 2+ years in bridge construction, estimating, or a relevant field required.
- Strong understanding of bridge construction methods required.
- Comfortability reviewing construction plans and specifications required.
- Strong experience reviewing construction drawings preferred.
- Proficient in software applications, including Bluebeam and Outlook preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
