Millstone has testing facilities in Bloomfield, CT, Willington, CT and West Warwick, RI. In addition, we have a packaging operation (and our HQ) in Fall River, MA, and a logistics facility in Olive Branch, MS.
This role is best suited to be located Bloomfield, CT or, potentially, Fall River, MA.
Job Summary
The Sr. Director of Testing is the leader of Millstone's Testing Business Unit and is responsible for leading and managing the business unit, ensuring the achievement of financial and strategic goals.
This role involves developing business strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring the alignment of the unit's activities with the company's broader objectives.
The Sr. Director will work with, and support, the testing site leaders to ensure that work is performed in a quality manner, that lead-times are maintained, and that daily operations run smoothly.
The Sr. Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and enhance the unit's competitive position in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution
Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the unit's goals. Align the unit's objectives with the company's overall vision and strategy.
Monitor industry trends and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
Financial Management
Prepare and manage the unit's budget, including revenue, expenses, and profitability targets. Analyze financial reports and metrics to assess the unit's performance.
Implement cost-effective measures and resource allocation strategies.
Operational Oversight
Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient processes and workflows. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Identify and address skill gaps, providing training and development opportunities.
Customer and Stakeholder Relations
Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Address customer needs and feedback to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Represent the unit in internal and external meetings and events.
Innovation and Growth
Identify opportunities for innovation and new business development. Lead initiatives to expand the unit's product or service offerings.
Drive continuous improvement and adaptability to market changes.
Qualifications
Education
College Bachelor's degree.
MBA or other advanced degree is a positive.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role preferred.
Industry expertise strongly preferred.
Experience working in an ISO 17025 facility strongly preferred.
Skills
Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent financial acumen and analytical abilities. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. Knowledge of relevant industry trends and competitive landscape.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional travel as required.
