Overview Purpose Statement / Position Summary : The Clinical Laboratory Technician II under direct supervision of unlicensed or licensed CLS, MLT, or section manager, functions as an unlicensed or licensed staff member in a licensed clinical laboratory performing duties approved by California business code 1269, CLIA, and other regulatory agencies.

Duties and responsibilities include patient preparation, specimen preparation, client service activities, preparation and management of reagents and supplies, and performing procedures and QC functions approved by regulatory agencies.

Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issue of the patient population(s) being served.

May be asked to take direction from a Lead or Senior level position. Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience : 1+ years experience in a large laboratory or academic institution.

3+ years experience in technical phlebotomy if blood collection is required for lab section. Processing experience preferred.

Experience in medical terminology sufficient to understand and discuss technical aspects of pathology and laboratory medicine.

Education / Licensure / Certifications : High school graduate or equivalent. AA degree preferred. Certification for phlebotomy when duties include phlebotomy.

Pay Scale Information USD $42,016.00 - USD $72,477.60 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
