Position : Outreach Phlebotomist
Local Hourly Pay $40 to $42
Hours : 40 hours per week, Days
Schedule : Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM
Requirements :
- Residency in Belmont, MA required.
- 1 Year of experince
- Provide Phlebotomist services specifically for Belmont, MA residents.
- Maintain established department policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Process a variety of specimens following established protocols. Perform data entry into both hospital and laboratory information systems.
Monitor requests for laboratory testing not processed through the laboratory information system.
- Ensure all outstanding orders are accounted for and any missing specimens are found. Document specimen receipt in the laboratory information system.
- Perform quality assurance checks on outpatient requisitions to ensure correct data entry.
- Sort and file requisitions according to established protocols. Pull all outpatient requisitions requiring follow-up with physician offices.
Obtain blood specimens for private outpatients.
- Understand all aspects of phlebotomy including age-specific competencies and specific procedures for pediatric patients (if applicable) through yearly competencies.
- Rotate onto weekends and holidays as assigned to ensure uniform quality of laboratory services.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.
