Insight Global is looking for a Full Time High School Mathematics Teacher in Indianapolis, IN. This teacher will be teaching students who are struggling with substance use at a Recovery High School.
The schedule will run as a traditional high school, with 8 periods a day, from 8am-4pm. There are around 40-45 students, with classrooms ranging from 5-15 students.
The math teacher should be proficient in teaching High School students algebra, geometry, and some calculus. Professional development is offered around how to incorporate helping students with substance abuse in the classroom and in their lesson plans.
This position ranges from $45,000-55,000 / yr. Summer school hours are offered as well for a 3 week program paying an additional $3,000-$4,000.
Must Haves :
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong experience teaching Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calculus)
- Understanding and passion in helping students who are struggling with substance abuse and providing hope for them in their education
Plusses :
Valid Indiana State Teachers License in 9-12 math (emergency permit will be provided while they obtain this)
Responsibilites :
- Plan, carryout, evaluate and supervise instructional lessons and activities in the areas of math education for students in a recovery high school setting.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Utilize student assessments and evaluations to inform teaching practices.
- Establish an invitational and engaging classroom environment, promoting high academic standards and leadership.
- Actively encourage and promote parent and community engagement.
- Maintain current records for all students.
- Collaborate with all staff.
- Communicate electronically with students, parents, and other staff concerning student academic progress, attendance and behavior.
