Material Handler

The Material Handler duties include, but are not limited to, shipping, receiving, cycle counting, picking, packing, and / or checking material in the climate-controlled warehouse.

This role demands attention to detail and the ability to visibly notice small differences in item numbers.

Responsibilities :

• Adheresto all safety,OSHA guidelines, work rules and policies and focuses daily on housekeeping inside and outside of the facility
• Must be present in the workplace and demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by Manager
• Supports, exhibits and adheres to the VCC Core Values
• Use of computer to print labels and investigate discrepancies in the WMS
• Conductbasic inspection, labellingandwrappingof VCC material in conjunction with the quality assurance department
• Performs other duties as assigned

Receiving :

ReceivesproductdeliveriesUnloadshippingcontainersScanandstock product accurately, timely, and neatly in its primary locationUtilizehandheld scanner

Picking :

Ensurepickingaccuracy andquantity rate is maintained at established standardCommunicatepickingworkorderissues(out of stock, location) to Material Admins

Cycle Counting :

Complete assigned cycle counts, physical inventories, random or receipt audits and reconciliationsResearchandreconcileinventorydiscrepancies

Checking :

Evaluates all shipping material for inaccuracies against pick ticketResponsible forcompleting clerical tasks such as labeling and tagging boxes to prepare for shipment

Packing :

Packs items quickly and properly within the established time limit and standardOperates machines and equipment to assists in packing process

Requirements :

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of full-time industry experience in a warehouse, distribution center, order fulfillment center, logistics, supply chain operations or manufacturing environment required.

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be accepted.

• Must exhibit the ability to read, write, understand and speak English
• Abilityto operate manualpalletjack
• Ability to utilize a handheld scanner
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting positive work relationships with other team members, as well as internal and external customers
• Capacity to utilize effective time management skills and be able to work under the stress of multiple deadlines, requests from other departments and interruptions with accuracy
• Ability to follow directions and communicate in English verbally and in writing and to read and understand materials printed in English
• Capacity to be self-motivated and achieve goals with minimal supervision or direction

Hours :

• Typically, Monday through Friday, full-time work hours with possible flexible work patterns as designated by the Supervisor and / or Manager
• Availability before or after designated work hours and / or weekends may be required
