Sr. Logistics Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary :

The Sr. Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of service by working with our key partners to ensure seamless and on-time fuel delivery to our customers, improving service level across the North America geography, ensuring KPI’s are met, and providing a path of continuous improvement and adaptability through market challenges and dynamics.

This role will function in a team-oriented environment; work in collaboration with Logistics Managers, Logistics Specialist, and Logistics Execution;

and play a vital role in Circle K’s strategy for the Global Fuels business reporting to the Senior Manager of North America Logistics Operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Be able to work in a team-oriented environment and provide cross-functional support as needed
• Works as liaison between petroleum transporter, supply teams and accounting departments to resolve any questions / issuesEnsure precise, cost-effective fuel distribution planning and cost reduction for overall transportationSummarizing, analysis and reporting of distribution planning indicators, as well as other relevant reportsEnsure implementation of logistics strategies in accordance with development goals, ensure achievement of goals and plansPerform necessary control mechanisms daily, to ensure the volume and quality within supply chain from oil terminals to end-consumersEnsure information exchange with internal and external partnersEnsure close relations with suppliers and clients in accordance with Circle K ethics and HSSE policyRepresent logistics unit in cooperation with other units in the company or external cooperation partnersExecute on product through arbitrage opportunities within the marketplace and leverage both internal and external carriers to the highest standardsEngage in cooperation with sales unit and customer service unit to gain high standard customer service.

Work proactively in search for opportunities to improve achievement of goals.Show immediate reaction and suggest solutions to customer complaintsMaintain close relations with external suppliers to gain understanding of products and services.

Ensure good routine of registration and retaining of information relevant for execution of duties.Provides day to day work direction to our petroleum transporters to ensure compliance with Circle K SOP, lifting instructions, load shifting, inventory levels, and arbitrage captureEnsures compliance with local, state and federal legal requirements by assisting common carriers during fuel conversion seasonsMonitor store level inventories and work with petroleum transporters to prevent run outsReview fuel dispatch system to insure proper setup parameters, sales trends, supply sources, and tank configurationsProvides after hours and weekend coverage for emergencies that are not resolved by support team members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years’ experience working in a transportation dispatch department, logistics operations, and / or in petroleum trucking industry
• Strong computer skills working with Microsoft products and dispatch systems
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable with presenting and / or reporting on a monthly basis to upper management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, supply chain management or related field
• Familiar with the functionality of PDI Telapoint software, or similar telematics applications
• Experience with supplier and carrier relations and project management

Basic knowledge of dangerous goods transportation
