Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a Structural Engineer - Highway / Bridges to join our Bridge Engineering Practice in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

This group is involved with projects across North America related to bridges, and on other transportation structures such as walls and sign structures that are critical to a nation’s transportation network and vital to local communities.

The projects include steel and concrete bridges of various types; pedestrian, vehicular, light-rail transit and freight bridges;

stationary and moveable bridges; rehabilitation and replacement of bridges, delivered across many clients and through various delivery methods.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following :

  • Work independently to perform structural engineering tasks, such as load calculations, design of bridge elements, quantity calculations, cost estimates.
  • Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final design of new bridges.
  • Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.
  • Use of computer software for the analysis and design of complex bridges and other structures.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, technical reports, design calculations, plans and provisions of construction phase services.
  • Project engineering and project management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related and 4 years of relavent experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
  • EIT / FE

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional Engineer License (PE) strongly preferred
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with structural focus
  • Experience working on PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, DRPA projects is helpful
  • Experience with engineering programs including PennDOT engineering software, MicroStation, CSiBridge, STAAD, LPile, VBent, etc.
