Position Summary
Delaware County Community College invites applications for a Part-time Adjunct Professor to teach Photography I & II, Black and White film courses.
Applicants should possess extraordinary interpersonal skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to effectively communicate with students to help them achieve their educational goals.
Expertise with Black and White film developing, printing, composition, editing, as well as presentation and critical analysis of photographs with a historical perspective.
Knowledge of departure from traditional photographic practices, conventions and materials. Ideal candidates would also have extensive knowledge of digital photography including Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and the Adobe CC suite.
Essential Functions
Essential Functions :
- Develop instructional plans to meet course competencies.
- Act as a team member of Art Department.
- Communicate the objectives of each course taught, grade according to those objectives, and report student progress toward the course goals.
- Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and successfully interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
- Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable out-of-class contact with students.
- Prepare syllabus, outlines, and other course material.
Experience & Education
Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree required. Community college-level teaching experience preferred.
