The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for directing and managing the administrative direction, financial performance and oeprational functions and activities of the hospital.

Position is also responsible for special projects assigned by CEO, hospital operations and clinical oversight in conjuction with nursing and departmental leaders.

The COO will act as CEO during times of absences of the CEO

Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or other applicable speciality.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Clinical degree with licensure acceptable with progressive management experience.

Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role at the administrative level is required.
  • Five (5) years of clinical or hospital operations experience with supervisorial and personnel management experience.
  • P&L responsibilities over service lines and / or departments.
  • Education and experience requirements may be waived at the Administrator's discretion.

Qualifications :

  • Significant successful experience with TJC, CMS and State licensing /
  • Must have the ability to develop criteria-based reports and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing hospital operating systems including budget development, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge with county, state, and federal standards, regulations, and accrediation process.
  • Must have working knowledge of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services.

Skills :

  • Have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and / or ethical principles.
  • Able to perform concentrated and / or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and / or highly technical situations.
  • Ability to work successfuly under highly stressful conditions and adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
  • Aibility to communicate in a professional manner through various mediums of communication devices including, verbal and written.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
