Full-time
We are sorry. The job offer you are looking for is no longer available.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running.

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Amazon Web Services is looking for a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to expand our Edge Infrastructure.

In this position you will be responsible for prioritization, scheduling and execution of network changes and upgrades across Amazon Data Centers.

You will manage our cross-functional projects, which require working with multiple AWS internal departments and groups including network operations, network engineering staff and internal project management teams, as well as external vendors.

You will develop and manage project schedules, identify risks and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders, define problem solving and risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution through the full project cycle.

A background in IT infrastructure, technology deployment or computer science is essential for your success in this position.

A successful candidate will have a proven track record of project completions that are on time and within budget. A candidate with demonstrated ability to lead others in a technical environment through facilitation of technical whiteboard sessions, deep diving project risks and issues and coordinating implementations to remove barriers to project success will thrive in this environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage multiple competing cross-organizational projects / programs simultaneously, some on a global scale
  • Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and senior management on a daily basis
  • Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles
  • Work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines and costs
  • Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up
  • Drive simplification efforts in engineering and project / program management and architectures to unblock innovation
  • Create predictable process paths for large and / or complex efforts

A day in the life

You will be managing a portfolio of network scaling and net-new deployments from demand signal to capacity turn-up. Working with teams across organizations to deliver on time for our customers.

You'll be balancing dynamic priorities and making trade-offs to ensure the right outcomes for both our customers and the business.

Holding stakeholders accountable, solving localized and systemic problems, developing systematic improvements and managing high impact portfolios.
