Job Description : Responsible for premixing material batches, polymerizing polyurethane materials, visual inspection of materials produced, product sample submissions, classification of materials to specification, packaging of finished product, record keeping and document control of batch records, inventory control of raw materials, and ensuring all equipment is kept clean and in good repair.

Job Roles and Responsibilities :
- Adheres to safety and environmental procedures. Wears appropriate PPE. Reports unsafe conditions and proposes and implements safety improvements to supervisor.
- Follows procedures and instructions to meet product quality requirements. Follows Good Documentation Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Escalates problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Sr. Materials Operator, Production Lead or Supervisor.
Identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Complete line clearance, batch records, training records, and other documentation as required.
- Understands and performs all operations on compounding or polymerization machines independently and troubleshoots run conditions in collaboration with Engineering.
- Completes complex tasks independently.
- Trains operators on all functions in compounding and / or polymerization.
- Able to perform all PMs and ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in proper working order. Fixes or reports issues as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Works with the production team to ensure daily and weekly production schedules are met.
- Learns and participates in Lean Manufacturing activities including sharing improvement Ideas with leadership and implementing ideas.
- Understands raw material preparation and completes transactions in ERP system accurately. Troubleshoots issues as necessary.
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the Biomerics Quality System
- Work in an environment with equipment running at elevated temperatures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor
Job Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures and drawings written in English.
- Ability to read numerous measurement devices for inspection of parts (ie; calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, scales, etc. )
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately in English.
- Ability to work safely around chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to do repetitive work, requiring strong dexterity and hand / eye coordination.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass background screen.
- Previous experience working with processes to produce plastic materials preferred.
- May be required to wear a respirator when performing select job duties.
