Driver Trainer

Some travel required for Safety Driver meetings and seminars. Saturday work is occasional and you are on call for emergencies 24 / 7.
Job Duties :
- Train and assist drivers in use of Qualcomm and electronic logs
- Train and assist drivers in Hazardous Materials regulations compliance
- Train and counsel drivers concerning safe driving, customer service and safe work habits
- Participate in accident reviews and investigations
- Conduct safety meetings, driver orientation meetings and driver disciplinary meetings
- Participate in continuing education and training to keep up to date and train others on regulatory changes and initiatives
- Maintain hazmat data and security plan
- Prepare safety presentation materials
- Attend Recruiting open houses
- Organize and run driving contests and state championship participation
- Manage annual safety award program
- Produce and update driver orientation manuals for company drivers and contractors
- Conduct terminal visits to train ops staff and conduct yard checks to reinforce yard procedures, spot inspect vehicles and qualify inspection sites
- Conduct check rides
Job Requirements :
- CDL Class A License
- 3-5 years experience driving
- Experience as a trainer, lead driver or other safety management position
- Must be able to teach and coach drivers on team
- Great listening skills - able to follow instructions and receive / give constructive criticism
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships
- Maintain a positive attitude and work well within a team
