Our client, a leading independent investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Portfolio Analyst for a 12+ month contract role.
This position is hybrid and candidate must be located in either Atlanta or Houston.
With minimal supervision, the Portfolio Analyst will play an important role in assisting the Performance Measurement, Analytics, and Reporting function (PMAR) execute the overall strategy of efficiently and effectively delivering performance and analytics related analysis and information across global teams and products.
The position will play a key role participating in automation initiatives, building new capabilities, actively participating in team discussions, and coordinating across departments to effectively deliver on PMAR’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities / Duties :
Lead and / or active participation in various performance and analytics projects designed to improve efficiencies and processes
Assisting in the reporting and analysis of portfolio and benchmark characteristics
The creation, interpretation, and analysis of fixed income performance attribution results for global products
Will need to be able to assess the importance of any given request or problem, manage the flow of information surrounding the item, and ensure proper resolution
Work Experience / Knowledge :
Proven experience in code and test programming using Python, R, VBA, SQL or equivalent is a must
Sound knowledge of project management tools is preferred
Knowledge of Performance, Attribution, or Investment Risk is preferred
Prior experience in Operations, Accounting, or Finance in the securities / investment industry is preferred
Experience in working with IT teams to implement business process improvements is preferred
Strong understanding of fixed income instruments is highly desirable

The ability to contribute to a team environment is critical
Ability to conduct complex analysis and present data in a meaningful way
Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information

Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, and countries is required
Formal Education :
Undergraduate degree in mathematics, finance, economics, or related field
Pay Rate- $63.00- $65.00 / hour
