SUMMARY :
Import Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with GFC Buyers, Taiwan suppliers, and overseas forwarder in arranging / scheduling weekly ocean shipments into US warehouses and GFdM (General Fasteners Mexico) warehouse.
The Import Coordinator position ensures containers are being scheduled in a timely manner. Support and backup logistics functions when needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain Vessel Log - shared tracking sheet for monitoring orders pending shipment
- Booking container space with Freight Forwarder
- Schedule and cube containers with high percentage of utilization
- Ensure order updates are processed timely and communicated to appropriate personnel
- Coordinate with Buyers / Accounting on any required CIA payments
- Coordinate KPI and department data projects and other tasks as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES :
- Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office : Outlook, Excel (highly proficient preferred) & Word
- Experience with Epicor
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
- Must be self-directed and possess a high level of personal organization
- Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Interact well with employees at all levels within the organization and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
- Process improvement mindset and change management oriented
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years International Import logistics experience
- Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business; CLTD.

- Due to international time zone differences, this role may rarely require monitoring of urgent communications after typical business hours (5-11 pm)
