Facilities Portfolio Manager - Urban Area

UG2 is seeking an Urban Area Account Manager primarily in the Boston area. The successful candidate will be pivotal in driving world-class innovations in science and technology for the greater good, backed by an accomplished facilities team that nurtures growth and professional development.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the operations and maintenance of a multi-million square foot portfolio.
  • Recruit, mentor, and train engineers, technicians, and supervisory staff, ensuring they are well-versed in industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing innovative strategies to address and resolve facilities-related challenges.
  • Optimize facility maintenance processes through effective use and improvement of the work order system.
  • Develop and implement documents such as methods of procedure, reports, schedules, and standard operating procedures to ensure safety, compliance, optimal efficiency, and effective operations.
  • Improve and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of property assets and minimize service disruptions.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective and proactive communication, meetings, and engagement.
  • Create and Improve comprehensive key performance indicator frameworks to enable data-driven decisionmaking and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track and record all billable and non-billable time and expenses.
  • Quickly respond to emergencies and ensure swift and decisive actions to correct issues, mitigate risks, protect personnel, and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Ensure the program director and executive client leadership are informed of facilities operations, progress, and performance.

Education and Experience :

  • A minimum of five years of facilities related experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate safety requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, work order systems, and building management systems.
  • Display a high level of adaptability to effectively work with individuals of diverse personalities and thrive in various working conditions.
  • Capability to foster professional relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities systems, such as electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to train and mentor engineers, technicians, and supervisory staff.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical, business, or facilities management field is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, remain stationary for extended periods of time, and perform daily physical activity including, but not limited to, climbing ladders, navigating multiple sets of stairs, and moving from room to room to inspect the physical condition of the building as required.
