Position :

As a Quality Control System Manager for Apparel, you are the hub of the quality team for CHAMPRO’s stock team uniforms and sportswear categories.

Your primary responsibilities include setting quality standards and inspection plans, evaluating reports from inspectors, helping to facilitate solutions to quality-related problems, and coordinating quality issues and expectations between all involved parties.

Your attention to detail, analytical skills, proactivity, and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards will be crucial in this role.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Manage Quality Team

a. In-house inspection team

i. Create sampling and inspection plans for shipments of team sports equipment

ii. prioritize inspections, assign other inspection / rework tasks as needed

iii. ensure consistency and precision of data collection

b. country-specific auditors

i. review reports, hold regular meetings to review factory issues

ii. compare auditor reports with US team reports to benchmark and evaluate performance

c. contracted auditors

i. identify contract auditors and set project scope

ii. compare auditor reports with US team reports to benchmark and evaluate performance

2. Quality Assessment

a. Assess the quality of apparel based on inspection results and reports

b. Identify defects, irregularities, trends, and quality issues

c. Determine whether products meet the required specifications and standards

d. Coordinate with internal teams to manage defective inventory; issue chargebacks as needed

e. Maintain records and data related to quality audits and inspection

3. Communication and Coordination between teams regarding quality issues

a. Prepare reports summarizing inspection findings, quality assessments, and chargeback calculations; communicate to relevant team members and factories

b. Serve as liaison between product management team, tech design team, in-house quality team, and factory quality teams. Work to understand product lines, and determine and document product standards and acceptance criteria in a way that is accessible to the entire quality team.

c. Provide quality summaries to senior leadership.

d. Collaborate with production and auditors to identify the root causes of quality issues and defects; develop corrective action plans

4. Continuous Improvement Initiatives : Strengthen quality programs and resources through the following projects :

a. Work with product management and tech design teams to create resources that can be used by factory and in-house quality teams (critical measurements, major and minor defects)

b. Identify critical qualities of raw materials; create sampling and inspection plans to be implemented at factories

c. Drive the search for software solutions that can assist with data collection and evaluation

d. Help to develop KPIs and evaluation systems of factories’ quality

e. Identify / implement process improvements to simplify and enhance overall quality control and efficiency

f. Share insights and develop best practices with quality team; work with in-house inspectors on consistency and precision of data collection

g. Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations related to team uniforms and sportswear

h. Other projects as identified

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in quality auditing and quality control
  • Ability to master understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control tools, especially in the apparel context
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong organization in documentation, record-keeping, and creation of systems
  • Proficiency in using quality management software, google platform, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong drive for ongoing improvement; proactive personality with a holistic view of operations
  • Lite travel out of the country (maybe twice a year)
