Job Purpose :

At Sunday Press, our cashiers / baristas are integral to our culture, providing a genuine sense of hospitality and exceeding guest expectations with friendly, authentic, and enthusiastic service.

Duties and Responsibilities :

As a Barista at Sunday Press, your primary responsibilities include :

• Passion for food, ice cream, coffee, and pastries.
• Learn and be knowledgeable about our food and beverage menus.
• Prepare the retail area and barista bar for morning, afternoon, and evening service.
• Ensure all guests receive top-notch care by monitoring quality control and guest satisfaction.
• Interact socially with guests in a polite and friendly manner.
• Take guest orders and package food, drinks, and pastries.
• Handle food, prep, and follow FIFO procedures.
• Learn standardized drink recipes and follow instructions.
• Use and maintain a quality espresso machine.
• Demonstrate confident and professional salesmanship.
• Handle cash transactions, including credit card payments via POS system.
• Contribute to the team effort by efficiently accomplishing tasks.
• Follow recipes to maintain consistency.
• Perform minimal food preparation, including cleaning and cutting fruit, prepping almond milk, and cold brew.
• Adhere to sanitation and proper food safety protocols.
• Answer and direct phone calls professionally.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Always adhere to the dress code policy.
• Perform according to company standards, expectations, and policies.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications :

To succeed as a Cashier / Barista at Sunday Press, you should have :

• Texas Food Handlers certificate.
• Outstanding guest service skills.
• Ability to memorize recipes and beverage lists.
• Flexible availability.
• Capacity to multitask.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Prior barista skills encouraged.
• A friendly personality!

Working Conditions :

You will be working in a restaurant setting behind a bar, potentially in close proximity to co-workers. Hazards may include cuts, minor burns, slipping, and tripping.

Physical Requirements :

You are required to stand / walk for extended periods. Regular talking and hearing are part of the job. This position is active, requiring the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
