Dessert Holdings is looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist based in the Aurora, CO office . This role reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and is responsible for the development and implementation of efficiency projects, lean manufacturing initiatives and for driving a continuous improvement culture within the organization.

This position collaborates cross functionally to ensure all aspects of projects align with customer expectations, manufacturing requirements, business goals and company policies (including Food Safety, GMPs, Regulatory requirements, Quality Assurance, financial controls & intellectual property protection).

The hired candidate can expect to make between $70,000 to $90,000 annually. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Senior Leadership to transform the organization to a Lean Operating System across the company
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement activities across the business
  • Institutionalize Standardized Work, Problem-Solving, and Pull Systems as fundamental building blocks for the organization
  • Engage workforce at all levels to gain commitment and understanding of the business change Establish that lean principles are in place to achieve required standards
  • Coach and Mentor Managers, Supervisors, Leads, and Operators throughout the organization on Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement fundamentals
  • Strategically affect positive change AND sustain it.
  • Work closely with the Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to improve processes and reduce waste
  • Drive a problem-solving rather than a problem-identifying approach, document the Problem Solving.
  • Drive Routings and Trial Validations to keep rate and headcount on standards
  • Adhere to safety regulations in line with business management systems
  • Expand and improve relationships across departments
  • Other assignments / duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Process
  • Sound understanding of and a minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques and methodologies in the areas of Standardized Work, Kaizen, Problem-Solving, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Process Flow, Heijunka, Jidoka, etc.
  • Passionate and tenacious approach to yield tangible improvements
  • Approachable and engaging manner with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Capacity to communicate at all levels of the organization levels
  • Ability to effectively collect and analyze data
  • Previous direct experience in a manufacturing environment

REQUIRED

0-20% travel

PREFERRED

English-Spanish speaker, if possible (considering the hours of day on production floor and the communication needed with operation, maintenance hourly staff)
