Milliman is seeking a Senior Application Developer who is passionate about developing leading edge applications, producing customer value, and innovating new solutions.

Job Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and implement new solutions using C#, SQL, Azure and other leading technologies
- Research, design, develop, and implement new data, analytic, web-based & data-driven applications
- Formulate & architect solution designs
- Troubleshoot existing application code
- Perform ad hoc programming and analysis
- Build ETL processes for client implementations
- Mentor junior developers according to best practices & industry standards
- Review of peers’ work product to validate quality results
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related degree required
- 5+ years of programming experience
- Software architecture & design experience
- Experience and proficiency with several technologies to include C#, ASP.NET, MVC, XML, JSON, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and jQuery
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL and / or other relational databases
- Exposure to managed services hosted on cloud platforms Azure & AWS
- Exposure to reporting tools (e.g. Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong coding standards using best practices
Competencies and Behaviors that Support Success in this Role
- Payer healthcare claim data experience, eligibility data and healthcare industry knowledge
- Knowledge of and used software architecture frameworks and design patterns
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure & AWS)
- Exposure to reporting tool (e.g. Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suit, especially Excel
- Systems methodology experience
- Sharp critical thinking skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability, and both the ability and willingness to clearly articulate your ideas
- Use of different approaches for working with multiple large data sets (e.g. Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Lakes, etc.)
- An inherent sense of the value of collaboration
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently

The Senior Application Developer will join a mix of software development professionals and work on a number of different platforms and products with a focus on new innovations.
In addition, as part of the broader Milliman landscape, they will work alongside Healthcare Actuaries, Pharmacists, Clinicians, and Physicians.
