The Role and Responsibilities

As an Electrical Technician, your role is vital in ensuring our electrical systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely.

You are essential to our technical operations, handling a wide range of activities. Your adherence to safety protocols, including following regulations, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, is paramount.

Your expertise in maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring production processes run smoothly and without interruption.

Your Key Areas of Impact

Routine Electrical Maintenance : You conduct regular checks and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they are functioning efficiently.

This involves cleaning, adjusting, and replacing components as needed, based on detailed maintenance schedules that you help to develop and refine.

Emergency Repairs : You respond swiftly to electrical failures or malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.

Your expertise allows you to diagnose problems quickly and implement effective solutions under pressure.

System Installation and Configuration : You oversee the installation of new electrical systems, ensuring that all components are configured correctly and integrated smoothly into existing networks.

This task includes interpreting complex blueprints and schematics to accurately install wiring, circuits, and other electrical infrastructure.

Preventive Maintenance Planning : You formulate and execute detailed preventive maintenance strategies to anticipate and mitigate potential system failures.

Your planning extends the operational life of electrical components and reduces the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns.

Advanced Troubleshooting : Utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and your extensive knowledge of electrical systems, you troubleshoot complex issues that go beyond typical problems.

This may involve analyzing system logs, conducting performance tests, and consulting with engineers to address systemic challenges.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety Oversight : You play a crucial role in ensuring that all electrical work complies with the latest safety standards and regulatory requirements.

You conduct regular safety audits, update safety documentation, and ensure that all safety measures are observed during electrical maintenance and installations.

Documentation and Record Keeping : Your responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive records of all electrical work, including repairs, maintenance, system upgrades, and compliance checks.

This documentation is critical for internal audits, compliance verification, and future maintenance planning.

Training and Mentorship : You lead training sessions for junior technicians and other team members, focusing on proper electrical practices, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.

Your mentorship helps elevate the team's overall expertise and fosters a proactive approach to electrical safety and maintenance.

Operational Efficiency Enhancements : You regularly evaluate electrical systems for efficiency improvements, suggesting upgrades or adjustments that can reduce energy consumption, enhance system performance, and lead to cost savings.

Technical Support and Collaboration : You collaborate closely with other technical teams, such as mechanical engineers and IT personnel, to ensure a holistic approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

Your input is vital in multidisciplinary projects, particularly those involving automation and smart technology integration.

Requirements :

You’ve may have received your associate’s degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering technology or a related field, and / or you’ve spent at least four (4) years in an industrial position.

You have held similar positions where you’ve exhibited a thorough understanding of electrical diagnostic equipment, electrical codes, and proper safety procedures.

You hold a Journeyman Electrical license. You will work with a high-level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management.

You may have experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You are familiar with AutoCad and PLC programming software, such as Siemens or Allen-Bradley.

The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

Your work is conducted primarily in a dynamic manufacturing setting, requiring flexibility to work in both office and production floor environments, where exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.

This job requires remaining in a stationary position 30% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and moving about inside the facility.

This job requires manual dexterity, as it involves operating machinery, tools, or controls, and handling or manipulating objects.

The job involves both close-up work and monitoring processes from a distance, as well as identifying and distinguishing colors.

The ability to discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency. This job requires operating a computer 30% of the time.

This job requires the ability to be able to lift to 50 lbs.
