Reporting to the VC-CFO, Information Technology Services (ITS) delivers enterprise information technology services to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) under the leadership of the campus Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Housing Dining Hospitality (RRSS), a division of ITS, is a self-funded, large and complex campus department consisting of 9 divisions, with more than 600 staff employees, 700-800 student employees and an annual operating budget of $140 million.
RRSS provides housing for approximately 15,000 undergraduates, grad students, faculty, staff and their families in over 400 buildings and approximately 5.
3 million sq. ft. Currently, RRSS houses 38% of UCSD’s enrolled students with a goal of housing 50% in the near future. RRSS also provides maintenance and repair, contract meals / meal plan management, as well as retail food service, conference services and catering services to student residents, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
Under close supervision applies professional concepts, departmental, unit and campus policies and procedures to resolve a variety of basic application and support issues in one or more IT areas of specialization utilizing strong inductive and deductive reasoning while maintaining customer satisfaction and meeting deadlines.
Analyzes and resolves basic to moderate issues within defined procedures and practices, determines appropriate action.
Works closely with departmental and technical staff and leadership, and has responsibility for application support for all applications related to the Dining, Markets and Laundry services, Campus Carding systems including but not limited to Transact Blackboard, POS / PCI systems, Laundries, Triton Cash services and vending, ID works software and devices, FoodPro / Food inventory application, Caterease.
Under close supervision applies basic low voltage wiring support and concepts. Ozzi Containers, Mobile Ordering.
Responsibilities :
- Applies IT professional concepts and department, unit and campus policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complex application and support issues in one or more IT areas of specialization utilizing strong inductive and deductive reasoning while maintaining customer satisfaction and meeting deadlines.
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Analyzes and resolves complex issues within defined procedures and practices, determines appropriate action under leadership.
- Works closely with departmental and technical staff and leadership, supporting a complex computing environment including several enterprise applications.
These include the administration of the Dining Dollars and Triton Cash Account programs, the FoodPro inventory control system and the Point of Sales system (Sequoia), to name a few.
- Incumbent serves as a project coordinator on various departmental projects and services.
- Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Employee must be available to travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software.
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Basic knowledge of incident response procedures.
Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies. Demonstrated skills applying security controls to computer software and hardware.
- Detailed knowledge and experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise applications typical to the dining industry such as Blackboard Transact Commerce System, Sequoia Retail Systems, QuadPoint Backoffice, and Aurora Systems FoodPro.
- Excellent project and time management skills. Ability to do strategic and long range planning, set clear goals and objectives, and to establish effective methods to monitor production and quality of work, set standards, assess staff capabilities, workloads, etc.
Demonstrated ability to direct both technical and nontechnical staff.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred : Knowledge of HDH Dining Department processes and procedures.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range : $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $33.29 - $59.15
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
