Some of what you'll be doing : As a Carpenter Lock & Security Supervisor, you will provide direct leadership and supervision for all work activities within the Marine Maintenance Carpenter Lock Shop in addition to providing services to the various business groups within the Maritime, Real Estate, and Northwest Seaport Alliance Divisions.

You will be responsible for changing locks, creating keys, assisting tenants with issues, and maintaining the key management database for Port of Seattle facilities.

You will manage & maintain locksets throughout Port of Seattle facilities which includes, offices, parks and terminals.You will be required to brief and supervise your team, but also perform the day-to-day tasks required in the shop.

You will operate computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) softwares including, but not limited to Maximo, Keystone, Quantum Secure and SharePoint that track and manage keys distributed to all personnel.

You will enter data used to track information regarding the doors maintained throughout the Port and its facilities.You will assist in activating or deactivating badges and access privileges.

You will oversee on-site activities to ensure safe work practices are followed by ensuring crew follow site-specific safety procedures and wear correct Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

You will oversee daily staff meetings, review daily Safety Hazards, identify personnel, equipment, and material needs.You will participate in hiring and layoff discussions and update documents, pictures, videos to track and communicate work performed.

You will oversee management of yard activities, track hours worked on work orders to ensure work performed will stay within budget.

You will monitor Port owned and rental equipment, report any issues to the General Supervisor, fill out and submit timecards, monitor crew breaks, lunches, overtime, and documentation of project activities.

Who you are : Experienced You have five (5) years of increasingly responsible journey-level carpentry experience.Desired We hope you have supervisory experience, as well as seven (7) years of journey level carpentry experience.

What else you need to know : Driver’s License You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required to travel locally to project sites.

Work Schedule Your normal work schedule will be Monday Thursday, 6 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.

You may be required to work all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.

Work Environment You will generally work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights and / or in confined spaces.

Washington State Residency Requirement Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle.

If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.Overtime Eligible You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.

Safety Requirements You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Security Requirements As the successful candidate, you must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) within the first three months of employment.
