Location : Franklin County, NY
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead the operations at their food manufacturing facility. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who can manage production, maintain quality standards, and meet financial targets.
The ideal candidate will work closely with various departments and senior management to ensure the company’s goals are achieved.
Responsibilities :
- Direct all plant operations, focusing on production, maintenance, safety, quality, and sanitation.
- Uphold high standards for product and employee safety.
- Foster effective communication across departments to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Provide feedback to corporate management regarding process changes affecting products and personnel.
- Select, mentor, and motivate departmental leaders to drive performance.
- Conduct meetings focused on production, safety, quality, maintenance, and sanitation.
- Lead initiatives to improve individual, team, and business performance.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on talent management, policy implementation, performance evaluations, and recruitment efforts.
- Coach leaders in maintenance, quality, safety, logistics, sanitation, and production.
- Oversee financial responsibilities, including P&L management and budget creation.
- Ensure readiness for audits from customers and regulatory bodies.
- Promote continuous learning and stay abreast of industry advancements and technologies.
- Manage manufacturing activities to meet customer demands at optimal costs and quality.
- Analyze operations to maintain industry leadership and integrate new technologies.
- Control expenses related to shrinkage, labor, and overhead through Continuous Improvement methods.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the business.
- Implement and enforce plant safety programs.
- Manage the Plant SQF & Food Security Policy / Program, ensuring preventative measures are audited.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, customer, and government audits.
- Oversee environmental health compliance at the plant level.
- Share best practices with other plant managers within the company.
- Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
Requirements :
- Ability to understand and implement the company's vision and mission.

- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Adaptability to changing needs and the capacity to lead through change.
- Collaborative approach with all departments and external stakeholders.

- Knowledge of operational finances, capital expenditures, and industry standards.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, with 5-7 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in the dairy industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
