BASIC FUNCTIONS :
The Social Sales Manager is responsible for facilitating all qualified social group business through administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Review, evaluate and respond to inquiries and leads for groups of 10+ peak rooms for on site weddings, off site weddings and other social related programs.
These programs are either in conjunction with an onsite wedding or rooms only off site or social room blocks.
- Determine rates to propose to clients through the sales business evaluation process including participating in team business evaluation meetings.
- Inform prospective clients of room block agreement terms, issue agreement and ensure client completes (signs) agreement and all associated documents.
- Manage the room blocks after agreement is signed.
- Manage room blocks and cut-off dates.
- Maintain account information in Amadeus Advance (prev. Delphi), the sales CRM system.
- Most business is inbound, however soliciting local market for social business is required.
- Rework and maintain old account files and solicit new accounts.
- Respond to all correspondence, customer and internal in a timely manner and consistent with departmental standards. Utilize a trace system for reworking and follow up.
- Set-up site inspections and conduct in person site inspections to win business and to further aid already confirmed business.
- Perform general office duties and assist other personnel, as required.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with departments interacting with groups.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations of changes, which would affect operations.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline forecast (ie. Decision dates and room forecasts). Occasional weekends and evenings based on work load and demand.
- Meet sales and activity goals as outlined by the Director of Sales and Marketing on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS :
- Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Practice safety standards and report unsafe conditions to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
ENVIRONMENT :
Indoor office area with carpet. Well lit with good ventilation.
QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum (2) two years of college, degree desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Prefer experience in hotel sales or related industry.
