Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a student worker for the Real Estate Department in Landscaping Maintenance.

This position will assist the Maintenance Supervisor with the general upkeep of the landscaping and maintenance and ensure that we maintain our high standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

Main duties include weed removal and mowing activities including weed trimming, trash clean-up, and mowing.

There will be light snow removal duties.

Additional duties include assisting with property upkeep and occasional clerical support work in the office.

Required Qualifications

Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

Candidate must be dependable, reliable, thorough, motivated, and detail-oriented

Candidate must be able to work as a member of a team by following instructions

A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The successful candidate must complete the Defensive Driving course shortly after hire.

This mostly outdoors position is defined as heavy work which includes walking or standing to a significant degree and requiring the ability to push, pull or physically move 30+ pounds on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous yard work experience is a plus

Candidates that are able to work 20 hours a week during the semester and longer hours during breaks

Schedule

Expected hours to work per week : Up 20 during the semester, and longer hours during breaks

$15 / per hour
