About the job

We're seeking a highly experienced and dynamic security leader for the position of Sr. Director of Corporate Security. This individual will have responsibility and influence over multiple facets of the Corporate Security program such as Physical Security, Health & Safety, Executive Protection, Travel Security and others.

In this role, you will cultivate a safe, healthy and secure environment for all Twilions. You'll work through challenging situations and circumstances that will affect the safety of the entire company and our workforce.

You will have the opportunity to create and mature the existing Corporate Security function with a dynamic and experienced team behind it.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll :

  • Build the strategy, vision, priorities, and plans along with the tactics to deliver on these for the protection of Twilio, its physical offices, and its employees.
  • Develop and deliver on the duty of care of our remote first, Open work environment
  • Create and manage effective operating model and governance, including policies, procedures, departmental OKRs and runbooks
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities within the organization. Develop strategies and action plans to mitigate risks, improve security measures, and respond effectively to incidents
  • Establish operational plans for crisis response, recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and emergency events
  • Oversee the day-to-day security operations of the organization, including access control systems, surveillance systems, and security personnel
  • Deliver education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure Twilions are adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues
  • Design and execute periodic internal security technology audits to ensure practices are followed
  • Support geopolitical and geographical threat intelligence
  • Champion the needs for Corporate Security by building strong relationships with business partners and cross functional teams to ensure your vision is realized.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships, and when necessary, act as the company's liaison with law enforcement
  • Identify and evaluate emerging security technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.

  • Demonstrated track record of building global physical and corporate security programs
  • Ten to twelve years of experience managing multi-sectional corporate and physical security teams
  • Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect our organization from threats and ensure the safety and security of our employees and facilities
  • High level of experience in communicating directly with CEO's and other executive level staff of large entities, specifically in the private or corporate setting
  • Familiarity with security standards around physical and remote operations and facilities on a global scale
  • High level of operational experience, specifically in the private or corporate setting
  • Extraordinary organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable traveling to all of the Twilio sites and global operations
  • Experience implementing new programs and rolling them out to regional and global teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Location

This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 25% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.

Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, Washington and Washington D.C. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows :

  • Based in Colorado or Washington D.C. : $199,040 - $248,800.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area) : $210,720 - $263,400.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California : $234,160 - $292,700.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits : health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
