Description
Turion Space is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our platform engineering team. This role requires expertise in CI / CD practices, cloud services (particularly AWS), containerization, and infrastructure as code.
The ideal candidate will be adept at managing our CI / CD pipelines and ensuring smooth deployment to AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain CI / CD pipelines using industry-standard tools, integrating security best practices, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Ensure smooth deployment of our products to AWS environments from our CI / CD pipelines.
- Utilize infrastructure as code practices, primarily using AWS CDK, to manage and provision AWS resources.
- Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for proactive issue detection and resolution in AWS environments.
- Optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, balancing cost, performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Implement and maintain DevOps best practices, contributing to documentation and process improvements.
- Troubleshoot issues in development, testing, and AWS production environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment processes and system reliability.
- Contribute to codebases primarily written in TypeScript, Python, and Go.
- Assist in implementing security controls within the DevOps workflow and AWS environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Help maintain secure configuration management practices for AWS cloud infrastructure and containerized environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and assist with incident response efforts.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts for AWS-based systems.
- Implement and maintain secrets management solutions to secure sensitive information across our infrastructure and AWS deployments.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a Secret and / or a TS / SCI clearance
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of CI / CD concepts and experience with industry-standard CI / CD tools
- Solid understanding of AWS services and architectures, particularly around containerization and orchestration
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools, primarily AWS CDK
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript)
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Amazon EKS)
- Knowledge of networking and security concepts in cloud environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Experience with microservices architectures and their deployment to AWS
- Familiarity with AWS monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray)
- Understanding of security best practices in DevOps workflows and AWS environments
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
- Knowledge of database systems and their management in AWS environments
- Understanding of compliance requirements in tech industries
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to open-source projects
