We are committed to delivering high-quality, individualized care that addresses the unique needs of students. We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to work with a great school district in Melrose Park, ILand make a meaningful impact on the lives of students.
This position will work with an PreK-8th caseload.
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist contracted through Soliant, you will provide essential therapeutic services to students in need.
Your role will involve assessing student needs, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and working closely with school staff and families to support students' academic and functional success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' needs and develop tailored therapy plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom setting.
- Deliver direct therapy services focused on motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive techniques.
- Develop and lead training sessions for educators and parents on strategies to support students with various needs.
- Track and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend related meetings.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois.
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
- Experience working with children in school or educational settings is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child development, special education, and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
