Position Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Communications Specialist to join our team in a temp-to-hire capacity.
This role will play a critical part in our ongoing communications efforts, including a major website launch. The ideal candidate will have strong web design and graphic experience, alongside excellent writing and editorial skills, to maintain our online presence and create a variety of communications materials.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, upkeep, and ongoing improvement of a newly launched website.
- Create marketing slicks, flyers, and digital materials to support various communication campaigns.
- Manage and maintain the organization's social media presence across multiple platforms.
- Assist in the creation of visually engaging PowerPoint presentations.
- Write, edit, and proofread a range of materials, including process documentation, articles, scripts, website content, and internal / external communications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and professional messaging across all communication channels.
Must-Have Qualifications :
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
- Ability to migrate files across multiple platforms seamlessly.
- Working knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and experience with content management systems (such as Drupal, Convio, Kintera).
- Proficient in graphic design and content creation tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a solid understanding of English grammar and punctuation.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications :
- A degree in English or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience working on website launches or significant digital marketing projects.
