Category Strategy Development : Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for metals and metal products to support business objectives.
Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify sourcing opportunities and risks.
Supplier Management : Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Cost Management : Lead cost reduction initiatives and drive value engineering projects to optimize metals costs.Monitor and analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and track performance against targets.
Quality and Compliance : Ensure all metals and metal products comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with quality assurance and compliance teams to address any issues and implement corrective actions.
Sustainability : Develop and implement sustainable sourcing strategies for metals, aligning with company goals and industry best practices.
Work with suppliers to identify and incorporate eco-friendly metal solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain, to understand metals requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
Provide sourcing insights and recommendations to support new product launches and other initiatives.
Market Intelligence : Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about metals trends, innovations, and competitive landscape.
Share market insights with internal teams to inform strategic decision-making.
Performance Metrics : Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supplier performance and sourcing effectiveness.
Prepare and present regular reports on category performance and sourcing activities.

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with a focus on metals.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategies.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of metals market, suppliers, and industry trends.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and eco-friendly metals solutions is a plus.
What's on Offer
Target compensation for the Strategic Sourcing Category Manager - Metals is $100,000 - $125,000 base salary + bonus.
