The Associate Medical Director, Belotero Lead, provides oversight to the Strategic Direction for the Belotero Portfolio for Global Medical Affairs.

This includes defining, developing, and implementing the peri / post marketing medical research strategies for Belotero, including life cycle management activities (Phase IV studies).

The lead closely interacts with the Global Marketing, Global and Region Medical, and R&D teams to support registrational trials and provide leadership for global medical affairs sponsored and supported trials.

They set the strategic medical research vision for Belotero, suggest novel technological approaches, and critically evaluate data and projects.

They participate in and advise on translational activities, progressing drug / device targets along the pipeline from early research through clinical development.

They also participate in the broader scientific community, through cross-functional meetings and representing the medical research vision to Senior Leadership and external collaborators.

Responsibilities

Oversight to GMA and post-marketing research strategy for Belotero :

Function as key strategic partner with the Clinical Development, Marketing, Regulatory, and Legal teams to plan and execute strategies and tactics in support of Belotero brand and portfolio development.

Communicate priorities, policies, and goals of Leadership to the broader team.Identify new strategies or technologies for pursuing novel targets and approaches.

Actively participate in departmental, cross-functional, senior leadership, and external meetings to contribute expertise and to represent the goals and vision of Merz Ax.

Interact broadly and collaboratively with cross-functional / regional colleagues forging relationships and active collaborations, as well as leveraging technologies to advance Ax research as a systems-level endeavor.

Develop and Execute Post Marketing Studies :

Plan and execute Phase IV studies to provide practice relevant data on marketed products.Build rapport and partnership with key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to gain insights to identify / fill data priorities and ensure progression of, or go / no-go decisions for, targets and projects.

Be familiar with processes and procedures for moving targets from preclinical research through the development pipeline for Belotero

Develop and Maintain Thought Leader Relationships :

Establish, build, and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) in respective global aesthetic areas to establish strong scientific presence in the practicing and academic communities.

Ensures accurate communication with appropriate external experts in the field of Aesthetics.

Communicate and Coordinate Scientific Competitive Intelligence :

Stays informed of current developments in the medical and scientific communities concerning assigned areas through appropriate familiarity with current literature, attendance at meetings, conventions, and professional associations.

Supports the evaluation of business development opportunities.Ensures appropriate and timely communication, support, and compliant collaboration with the commercial and global teams.

Technical & Functional Skills :

  • Strong scientific background and proven ability to interpret scientific and study data
  • Working knowledge of biostatistics
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Collaborative cross-functionally
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication and soft skills
  • Focus on external customers

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Terminal Degree Required (MD or PhD)
  • 5+ years with experience in study design
  • Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Aesthetics experience preferred
  • Previous participation in advisory board meetings
  • Knowledge of injectable medical devices
  • Demonstrated experience building credible professional relations with Key Opinion Leaders in the aesthetic field
  • Experience in a global company and global role
