Position Overview :

Terrible's is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Security and Loss Prevention to lead our security operations and develop comprehensive loss prevention programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, risk assessment, and loss prevention strategies.

This executive will be responsible for safeguarding our assets, ensuring the safety of our employees and customers, and minimizing financial losses across all Terrible's locations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Leadership :
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security and loss prevention strategy aligned with Terrible's overall business objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership and direction to the security and loss prevention team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Security Management :
  • Oversee all security operations, including physical security, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure the protection of company assets, including properties, inventory, and data, through robust security measures.
  • Loss Prevention :
  • Design and execute loss prevention programs to reduce shrinkage, theft, and fraud.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance and Training :
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to security and loss prevention.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on security protocols, loss prevention techniques, and emergency procedures.
  • Incident Management :
  • Lead investigations into security breaches, thefts, and other incidents, coordinating with law enforcement as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain incident reporting systems and ensure timely and accurate documentation of all incidents.
  • Technology and Innovation :
  • Evaluate and integrate advanced security technologies and systems to enhance security operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Budget Management :
  • Develop and manage the security and loss prevention budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Monitor financial performance and report on key metrics related to security and loss prevention initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must have experience working in gaming and with the Gaming Control Board.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security and loss prevention, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful security and loss prevention programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in security technologies and systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position will oversee the Security & Loss Prevention Team.

Travel Requirements :

Position requires reliable transportation.

Language Sills :

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses and Permits

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required for position by federal, state and local regulations which may include :

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification from ASIS International is preferred.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada state security license.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming and non-gaming licenses as required by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
  • Must qualify for and maintain an armed security officer license in accordance with Nevada state regulations, including completing required firearms training and passing necessary background checks.
