Rockhurst University is seeking a Digital Media Producer to join our Marketing and Communications team. The Digital Media Producer will conceptualize, organize, shoot and edit digital video content and photographic images that support the overall internal communications, public relations, and marketing efforts of Rockhurst University.
This position is responsible for editing video, editing audio, incorporating graphics, and the delivery of different formats to different platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in storytelling and marketing via video production, knowledge of industry production standards, feel comfortable communicating with clients and peers, and understand project workflow from the planning phase through production and delivery.

Job duties include, but are not limited to :
- Creates and develops digital media (audio / video) content for internal clients and the Rockhurst University Marketing Department on campus to help them promote school, unit or program.
- Works collaboratively with the Digital Media Director to plan pre-production process variables, script, storyboard, setting deadlines, production schedules and preferred optimal forms of media for projects.
- Supervises project from pre-production to post-production; ensures location adequately prepared for production.
- Works independently and in an inclusive team approach to establish project deliverables.
- Collaborates closely with internal clients to help facilitate the creation of digital media content.
- Plans video shoots; scouts, selects and reserves shoot locations.
- Develops production schedules and manages timelines; informs Director of Digital Media of any related issues that arise.
- Identifies additional equipment needs for purchase or rent and informs Director of Digital Media as needed.
- Records and edits video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing / importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, GIFs, titling, adding music / voice-over / sfx, media management and archiving project media.
- Oversees, organizes and manages video library and Rockhurst University Studio.
- Works closely with Social Media Manager to create visual content for the Rockhurst social media channels, and assisting in taking photographs and videos for campus special events and functions as directed.
- Manages projects, directives, and work flow for the Student Work / Study Video Production Specialist
- Assists the Marketing and Communications office as needed.
Desired Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, Broadcasting, Photography or related field required.
- Two (2) years of experience managing creative assets in video, film, sound or interactive media within an advertising agency or similar environment
- Experience operating DSLR
- Experience operating studio lights, lights modifiers, portable power, continuous lighting
- Experience operating Audio equipment, DSLR Rigs, stabilization systems, monitors, and viewfinders and support accessories
- Experience working with Adobe Creative products, Microsoft Office, Mac environment and management software.
May be required to work flexible hours and weekends as business necessitates.
