About this role :

The Traffic Supervisor is responsible to supervise the daily activities of hourly traffic department employees including overseeing their daily dispatches, deliveries, and routines.

Maintain driver qualification files and keep all drivers in Department of Transportation compliance. This position will manage a fleet of drivers and be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and onboarding all new hire drivers.

What you’ll do :

  • Review ALL HOS violations and ELD Reports. Address any issues with drivers in coordination and support of Safety & Compliance Coordinator
  • Complete DMPS on a nightly basis with knowledge of cube limits and personal availability
  • Driver Discipline, Driver reviews / coaching
  • Review Orders, production schedules and shipping / receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations VIA DMPS route planning
  • Perform Weekly STOP Audits; report and document all scanner coaching conversations, and setup driver ride-alongs .
  • Responsible for handling ALL incidents in conjunction with Traffic Manager & Safety & Compliance Coordinator
  • Maintain ALL incident files and ensure all files are correct & complete. -Accidents, -Ins. Claims, CSA Scores, Driver Clearinghouse, OSHA
  • Process & Maintain driver's payroll files
  • Review & submit driver payroll for approval by Traffic Manager
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment lists for (trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, scanners and IVG's) and ensure all are maintained properly and in working order when needed
  • Responsible for afterhours communications with drivers
  • Dispatch personnel and vehicles in response to reports of emergencies
  • Conduct a safety orientation of new drivers, and 45 day, 90 day & annual reviews.
  • Assist LM & Traffic Manager in maintaining compliance with ALL Federal, State and DOT rules & regulations and driver safety
  • Collect ALL incident data & safety metrics for reporting
  • Conduct routine & follow-up safety and hazard inspections.
  • Confer with customers, supervisors, managers, or other personnel to exchange information to resolve problems.
  • Ensure and track completion of all safety training assigned by Corp. or local RSC's
  • Supply data for DOT violations to management
  • Perform data analysis on accident and violation information to determine focus area for remediation, prevention, and risk
  • Audit daily logs and on time delivery

What you need to succeed :

  • Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
  • Be an active participant in contributing to a successful safety culture in the facility.
  • Knowledge of Department Of Transportation rules and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent previous experience preferred.
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours and schedule.
  • Knowledge of Hours of Services rules.
  • Familiar with Hazard Material information and regulations.
  • Must possess positive employee relation skills and excellent communication skills.

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Compensation Details :

Annual salary range of $63,100- $79,000
