SMGC : Deans Office (Part-Time, Day Shift) -

The Educator-SMGC supports certificate-level teaching within the San Manuel Gateway College. Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum one year of teaching experience required. License / Certification varies depending on the program.
Preferences include; knowledge of public health core competencies (focus on Social Determinants of Health), knowledge of basic human anatomy and physiology, common illnesses and conditions, disease management, wellness and healthy lifestyle factors, knowledge of basic health coaching skills, knowledge of basic mental health concepts and skills, knowledge of Community Health Workers scope of work and CHWs various work settings (community, school, clinic / healthcare), knowledge of interdisciplinary team work dynamics and team members’ general scope of work knowledge, able to understand, self- apply, and encourage others to apply concepts of cultural humility and cultural competency.
Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner.
Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.
- g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively;
- organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others;
- work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace;
see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
