Responsibilities of the Federal Contract Writing Expert

EDC Consulting is seeking a Federal Writing Expert to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in contract writing projects within federal agencies, and expertise in procurement and supply chain management processes.

The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of the procure-to-pay process and experience with sourcing, contracts, shipping, and inventory management.

The Federal Contract Writing Expert will :

  • Lead and manage contract writing projects across various federal agencies, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and standards.
  • Oversee and optimize the procure-to-pay process, from sourcing and acquisition to payment.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient supply chain management, improving processes related to contracts, shipping, and inventory.
  • Craft detailed contract documents, negotiate terms, and ensure that contracts meet the objectives and compliance requirements of the agency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and align contracts with agency goals.
  • Maintain and update contract records, using contract management software to ensure accurate tracking of terms and deliverables.
  • Train and guide team members on best practices in federal contract writing, procurement, and supply chain management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement strategies and supply chain processes.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services and compliance with contract terms.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in federal contract writing and involvement in contract writing projects with other federal agencies.
  • Expert knowledge of the procurement or procure-to-pay process within a federal context.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain management or the supply chain process.
  • Proficiency in managing sourcing, contracts, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across various departments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Law, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification in procurement or contract management is highly desirable.
