Responsibilities
This job is primarily responsible for providing clinical and technological assistance to an Electrophysiologist (MD) in performing complex invasive electrophysiology studies / procedures.
An incumbent assists the physician with all procedures in the EP lab, including implanted devices and arrhythmia ablations;
assists the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures and device implants. An incumbent provides patient care to all electrophysiology patients, including acquisition and reduction of all pertinent information related to their procedure.
Work includes performing arrhythmia ablations, assisting in geometric mapping and implantation of cardiac devices (e.g. loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators, leadless pacemakers, S-ICDs, etc.
An incumbent assists during electrophysiology procedures in the role of either : 1) a circulating technologist, who directly assists the procedural team;
2) a scrub technologist, who directly assists the physician during the procedure, or 3) a monitoring technologist. An incumbent is responsible for safe and proper equipment set up and operation as well as related recognition / troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions.
Work involves the application of scientific principles related to clinical electrophysiology to provide technical support and patient care services and an incumbent applies / integrates knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, electrical technique and interventions being performed to monitor the patient for potential / actual physiological and behavioral changes intra-procedure and intervenes appropriately within scope of licensure.
Work requires the ability to wear a lead apron and stand for 80% of work time.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field or successful completion of a Radiological Technologist program, and one year of related cardiovascular technology work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge / abilities.
Current licensure as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS) through the Washington State Department of Health AND current Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification (RCIS) as issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist through the Washington State Department of Health AND current Radiography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health Compliance requirements.
