Job Responsibilities :
Estimator-Gas Construction
The Estimator role is responsible for evaluating RFP documents, bid specifications and drawings, ensuring timely and accurate completion of bid estimates.
Estimators must understand and have a working knowledge of natural gas construction and relevant industry practices. Estimators will work with the General Manager and Project Management team to develop bid submissions.
This position is required to perform the following functions :
- Provide initial RFP review, determine scope, schedule and other parameters required for bid submission. Prepare and maintain the status of all RFP documents.
- Attend pre-bid meeting and field reviews / job showings.
- Solicits and maintains communications and relationships with subcontractors and vendors
- Leads in the preparation and coordination of bid submittals, including quantity take-offs, baseline schedule, risk assessment and execution plans, assists in project hand-off.
- Thoroughly reviews and ensures that any changes / addendums prior to the bid deadline are implemented within the bid submission.
- Ensure bid deadlines and customer presentation requirements are met and will assist in developing and implementing estimating guidelines.
- Perform final review of all submissions with Group Manager and PM support team
- Participate in RFP downselect / descope meetings

Skills and Experience
Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel and Project
- Disciplined file organization and document control
- B2W or HCSS and Bluebeam Revu software experience is desirable
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 2 5 years related experience
- Previous Gas Construction Gas utility, Linear distribution, Transmission and Facilities estimating experience
