POSITION SUMMARY :

The Regional Vice President (RVP) is responsible for leading and developing the regional sales team. In addition, responsible for developing and driving the overall sales within the region.

In this position, the Regional Vice President directs and oversees the sales strategy, objectives, and initiatives within the region and is in alignment with company goals set by senior management.

This also includes setting budgets, forecasts, and processes for region. They will work with closely with the strategic account VPs, product development and marketing, while building collaboration and teamwork within the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for translating Tarkett' s overall direction and objectives into a regionalized marketing plan encompassing and implementing strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for region.
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures;

analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Lead, motivate and develop a regional sales team to set sales strategy & vision and prioritize opportunities.
  • Maintains and expands customer base by coaching Account Executives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers.
  • Ensure, through leadership and management, the sales channel network within the region is consistent with the Tarkett's overall multi-channel strategy.
  • This strategy includes ensuring that the regional sales channel network is structurally aligned with Tarkett, and is organized both managerially and financially to achieve long-term growth in a multi-channel selling environment.
  • Drives utilization and consistent updates of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database.
  • Budgetary responsibilities for designated region, including analyzing and controlling expenditures of region to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Manages pricing strategy by evaluating opportunities and managing company profit goals and expectations
  • Evaluates sales trends and research to adjust sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Monitors competitor sales and marketing activities.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Participates in sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed segment expansion.
  • Drives cross-territory and cross-segment collaboration and opportunities, coordinates with other Regional Vice Presidents of inter-regional opportunities to facilitate team selling.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders including other AE's, manufacturing / operations, segment specific marketing teams, marketing and customer service in order to execute outstanding experiences for Tarkett customers.
  • Travel as necessary to maintain or create personal contact with current and potential customers, key stakeholders.
  • Manage quality issues with customers immediately and facilitate solutions to problems locally or in concert with operating management at division headquarters.
  • Continuously assess distributor operations, in particular (i) results achieved, (ii) financial status (receivables), and other problems which the Company should be aware of
  • Assist with hosting of key customers / potential customers at corporate headquarter and manufacturing facility visits ("mill visits").
  • Represent Tarkett in a professional manner when engaging, contractors, distributors, architects and designers or end-users.

REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements) :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or other related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of sales related experience required, including at least 5 years of leadership experience
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Experience in a multi-state or national role
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with CRM - Dynamics is preferred
  • Industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Overnight travel is required (30%)
