Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Art Designer to join our talented team of artists! Come be part of Konami Gaming's Art department and create artwork and animation for slot machines, including game symbols, character animations, layout, graphic interface, instructional screens, and attract sequences.

The Senior Art Designer is responsible for determining style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effect while conforming to design requirements.

Candidates will be ask to provide a link to their online portfolio in order to draw the attention to any particular samples that fit the criteria.

What will you be doing?

• Creates and / or enhances drawings, game theme, characters, symbols and effects.
• Creates computer generated animation of UI, symbols, effects and / or characters.
• Using strong graphic design skill, provides 2D and 3D user interface screens and information / instruction graphics for incorporation into final games.
• Collaborates with Game Designer and Manager to finalize artwork for each project. Provides artwork for review at appropriate stages and applies feedback accordingly.
• Prepares data for in-game implementation, working within production requirements in collaboration with Software team. Modifies frame artwork under tight deadlines.

Understands full range of game types, products and platforms.

Aligns each game's art creation with the functional spec / graphic proposal, including conceptual art and storyboards. Creates graphics visually reinforcing game rule and game flow.

Identifies and executes cost effective, effort maximizing use of tools and techniques.

Analyzes Konami and competitor product library and performance in the field from a player's perspective to find industry trends, consider players in art design and discern which art approaches are most effective to appeal to gamblers.

Qualifications

What skills and expertise do you bring to the job?

Bachelor's degree in Computer Art, Graphic Design, Animation or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Art institution certification or awards desirable.

• 5+ years of experience and / or training in related work.
• Photoshop required; Unity, Illustrator, Animate, Maya 3D, After Effects, Z Brush software experience desirable.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and traditional art skills required.
• Understanding of interactive game art standards (hierarchy, theme, character design, fonts, layout skills, symbol design and color)
• Must be eager to learn and able to work with a team.
• Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, verbal and written with all levels of the business.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming licensure(s).
