Job Summary
Aquaveo, LLC is currently seeking a Water Resources Consulting Engineer to work at its location in Provo, Utah. Aquaveo is a growing Civil Engineering software company that provides water modeling products and services around the world.
The individual filling this position will use cutting edge technological tools and software to develop models for solving problems related to hydraulics, hydrogeology, and / or hydrology.
The position would involve performing hydraulic, hydrogeologic, and / or hydrologic modeling analyses using the Surface-water Modeling System (SMS), Groundwater Modeling System (GMS), and Watershed Modeling System (WMS) software.
- Other tasks and duties may include developing hydraulic, hydrogeologic, and / or hydrologic modeling training materials such as workshops, tutorials and sample projects developing training materials;
- testing XMS software; providing consulting support for clients; interacting with clients on a daily basis; conducting and coordinating training to instruct others how to use and apply Aquaveo software;
gathering feedback and proposing improvement plans to the consulting and training manager.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill consulting assignments made by the consulting and training manager
- Develop, test, and revise training material for XMS software developed by Aquaveo
- Participate in testing and training activities related to XMS software
- Make contacts and work on proposals to acquire additional consulting work
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Experience with hydraulic, hydrogeologic, and / or hydrologic modeling
- Experience using Aquaveo software (SMS, GMS, WMS, and / or AHGW)
- Experience using ArcGIS software
- Experience using hydrologic models such as HEC-HMS, GSSHA, NSS, TR-55, Rational, MODRAT, and / or HSPF
- Experience using hydraulic models such as SRH-2D, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, and / or AdH
- Experience using coastal circulation and wave models such as ADCIRC, CMS-Flow, CMS-Wave, STWAVE, FUNWAVE, WaveWatch, and / or BOUSS2D
- Experience using groundwater models such as MODFLOW, MT3DMS, SEAWAT, and / or FEFLOW
- Ability to gather, understand, and critically analyze relevant hydraulic, hydrogeologic, and hydrologic data
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and maintain good relationships
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and standard Windows applications
- Ability to learn new software, programs, and processes quickly
- Excellent time-management skills as many tasks are expected to be done in different areas daily
Location : Provo, Utah
Schedule : M-F 8am-5pm (40 hours per week)
