We value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!*Primary Duties & Responsibilities : Use various equipment to apply herbicide products for control of noxious and invasive plants.
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in applying various types of chemicals, including pre / post-emergent, selective / non-selective, and broadleaf herbicides.
- Operate powered equipment such as ATV's UTV's and tractors.* Follow proper procedures for chemical handling, storing, loading, mixing, and applying.
- Identify common ornamental, native and non-native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous species.* Adhere to General Tree Service Standards regarding paperwork, equipment, and production.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and maintain positive internal relations.* Uphold on-the-job safety practices and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist in other related tasks as assigned, such as supporting other departments as needed. *What kind of person are we looking for?
Someone with : Clean driving record in the last five years* Capability to lift 50+ pounds and walk several miles daily.* Willingness to occasionally work weekends and early morning hours.
- Adaptability to work outdoors in varying and adverse weather conditions.* Digital dexterity and muscle coordination necessary to control field equipment.
- Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions in English.* Ability to maintain written records and demonstrate legible written skills.
- An Ideal Candidate : Is dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.* Has a positive attitude and dedication to providing excellent customer service.
- Is organized, detail-oriented, and has effective communication skills.* Possess an Oregon Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Applicator license.
