LMI seeks an Acquisition Management Specialist to support a federal program management office within Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the National Capital Region.

Responsibilities

Serve in a full-time client facing role as an Acquisition Management Specialist. You will be instrumental in facilitating communication and collaboration between the client and multiple stakeholders, as well as craft and refine business and technical processes to optimize organizational performance.

You will lead process improvement efforts, incorporating industry-leading methods to boost efficiency and effectiveness, while utilizing analytics to translate end user needs into practical operational solutions.

  • Support Program Acquisition Process utilizing DHS Acquisition Life Cycle guidelines and best practices
  • Provide expertise in acquisition artifact development and review throughout the Acquisition Life Cycle
  • Liaison between business units, technology teams and support teams for the purpose of developing business and technical processes
  • Collect, evaluate, and compress data and information from multiple sources.
  • Resolve conflicting priorities and differentiate between "as is" and required user needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and evaluate key drivers which accelerate organizational performance
  • Lead process improvement initiatives through the planning and implementation of industry best practices to enhance processes, reduce waste and increase effectiveness
  • Implement standardization through the documentation of processes and procedures
  • Provide analytical reasoning to capture end user's requirements and transform them into operational application
  • Serve as a technical advisor on the adequacy of the program’s execution of contractual requirements related to process improvements
  • Monitor and evaluate program results to make data driven decisions and present data findings and recommendations to leadership

Qualifications

Senior : Minimum of a Master's Degree and 10 or more years work experience in acquisition OR a Bachelor’s Degree and 18+ years work experience in acquisition.

Mid-Level : Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 3-10 years work experience in acquisition.

  • DHS Acquisition background and understanding of DHS acquisition lifecycle framework and system engineering life cycle desired
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams for large, complex programs
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint
  • Ability to effectively solve problems with minimal guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • This position requires eligibility to acquire a CBP BI, for which you must be a U.S. Citizen. An active CBP Background Investigation is desired
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications;

active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
