We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Specialist to join our team and contribute to the financial health of our organization.

Job Summary :

The Collections Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, managing account resolutions, and handling billing and insurance-related tasks.

This role involves interacting with multiple stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions :

• Provide outstanding customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and concerns.
• Assist with account resolution by communicating account information, updating insurance details, offering solutions, and setting up payment arrangements.
• Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls related to billing and collections.
• Collaborate with internal team members and departments to manage billing and insurance queries.
• Run various reports to track and work on pending and aged claims.
• Verify claim denials daily and process corrections for resubmission.
• Assist with batch payments, scanning, and attaching necessary documents.
• Post self-pay, co-pays, deductibles, and / or coinsurance payments as applicable.
• Support the team with additional tasks as needed.

Required Skills & Abilities :

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Expertise in multiple billing types, including patient billing, insurance, and other invoicing.
• Exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to analyze problems, define challenges, and proactively suggest solutions.
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks with accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for maintaining relationships with internal teams, third-party payors, patients, and other representatives.
• Proficient in managing data from multiple sources.
• Personal traits of professionalism, accountability, innovation, and commitment to high standards.
• Competency in Microsoft Office 365.

Education & Experience :

Required :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred :

3 years of experience in billing / collections.
